„Tipping Points 4 Justice“ is a project that facilitated a total of four skill share events in Austria and Poland in 2023 and 2024, as well as a handbook. Click here for the events in Austria and Poland.
The handbook is here!
After four Tipping Points events, which we planned, implemented and evaluated in exchange with our partner organisations Civil Action Network in Austria and Czas Kultury in Poland, after a lot of research and joint consolidation of our findings, we proudly present:
The Handbook for organising empowering skill-share events for social movements!
You can download it for free as a PDF HERE – or get it printed for postage in your letterbox. And since we also like to learn, we are happy about everyone who gives us feedback - even 2 or 3 minutes of your time will help us a lot!
Why the whole thing?
Social movements need skills! Over the past two years, three organisations have worked together as part of an Erasmus+ project to organise events for the exchange of skills and methods and to document experiences. This project is now coming to an end.
We are now pleased to present the handbook, which is aimed at organisers, facilitators and anyone interested in organising skill-share events. This practical guide looks at the things we believe need to be considered in order to successfully organise such an event. We don't go so much into the basics, like finding a room, applying and planning food. Rather, we emphasise topics and experiences that can make such an event special. For example: awareness teams, productive team structures and regenerative elements.
4 skill share events and years of experience
As part of the project from 2023 to 2024 and our joint work, two skill share events took place in Austria (Tipping Points. Skills and Methods for Social Movements) and two more in Poznan (Poland), called RÓWNOWA?NIA. In between, the participating organisers met for handover and evaluation meetings. This allowed us to build on each other's experiences and at the same time learn about the differences that come to light in various countries. This knowledge has also been incorporated into the handbook, which will therefore also be useful across countries and contexts. Skill share events for social movements have been organised in Austria since 2019 under the title ‘Tipping Points’. Experiences from this time have also been incorporated into the project.
