Is there a basic recipe for social change?

The European climate (justice) movement is growing, becoming more diverse and stronger. What different approaches and strategies are there in the movement? What can various groups learn from each other? Where are the similarities, where are the differences? In which areas can we work well together and in which not? Is there a basic recipe for social change?

The booklet offers readers a compact input on the topic of Theory of Change as well as eight interviews with activists from various climate (justice) groups in German-speaking countries. The aim of the publication is to bring together the voices and opinions of politically active people who would not normally meet and thus initiate a broader discourse on the topic of Theory of Change.

Theories of Change booklet, 144 pages

4-part booklet: Introduction, theory section, interviews with various stakeholders in the climate justice movement, reflection questions and conclusion.

The main part of this publication consists of interviews with activists from the climate justice movement. At the beginning of each interview, there is a short background text about the person's group. You will also find questions for discussion and reflection at the end of each interview. The idea behind the interviews is that people read them on their own, discuss them in their political groups after their own reflection and continue to think about the content together. However, they are also suitable for personal reflection or to inspire the formation of new political groups.

I contribute my personal opinions and deductions, particularly in the foreword and conclusion, as well as partly in the chapter on power.
